    Paul,
Probably the one of the best helps is Larry Puckett’s book, “Wiring Your Model Railroad”.

The easiest way is to use a second 12 volt power supply and connect the turntable to that power supply. I have a HO scale DCC layout and I use an ATLAS (HO) turntable.. it works great.Easy to wire up.

If your building one, the turntable track needs a way to reverse polarity when turned 180 degrees. I would suggest a Juicer or similar device used on a reverse loop. You can use a D.P.D.T toggle however the automatic switching of an electronic devise is well worth the price. As stated a separate power source should be used for the drive motor.
