Walthers Cornerstone Motorized 130′ Turntable Not Working

Walthers cornerstone turntableWolfgang posted this question:

“Hello Friends, this afternoon my N scale Walthers cornerstone turntable stopped working. Instead of Power Control LED shows ‘on’ the bridge doesn’t work. What can I do? Thanks for any helpful ideas. I am living in Germany and maintenance by a hobby shop is not easy to get.”

  • Geoff says:

The standard thing to do is to trace the wiring to make sure that something hasn’t come unscrewed. I’m not familiar with this turntable, but looking at the Walthers website it seems to be DCC powered. Have you tried re-progamming it?

  • Frank B says:

If you can post a circuit diagram showing how you have wired up the turntable, we can begin to give advice on diagnosing the fault.

However, as Geoff says, start by making sure all the wires are connected securely to their terminals.

Do you have any kind of circuit tester ? Just a 12V bulb or buzzer with 2 wires attached will enable you to see how far the power is getting from your controller to the rails and motors.
