Powering Remote Electric Switches

Jim has a question to test readers knowledge:

“Can I pull power from my DCC electrical buss to power my remote electrical track switches or must I set up a separate electrical power source e.g., a small transformer?”

One Response to Powering Remote Electric Switches

    HI Jim,
You would want to power your turnouts with a separate source from your dcc. I use small transformers such as those found in dc train sets. You can find them at train shows, etc. Just hook up your wiring and control switch to the AC ACCESS. posts and you are on your way. You can put them under your layout out of the way.
