Laying Track -Straights Or Curves?

Eugene wants your suggestions on track laying and asks:

“Where do I start when laying track? Do I use a long straight edge to start to process?”

One Response to Laying Track -Straights Or Curves?

  • Tony P says:

Hi Eugene, First decide if you are going to use a road bed material. With that said either way dry run most if not all of your track. This way you can make any necessary adjustments. I usually like to start with the straight tract but you can start with radius. As you can see this is a personal choice. A straight edge is a good start and dont be afraid to draw your plans on your layout. Make sure before you start nailing or glueing things down that you know if and where you are going to isolate sections of track (sidings) etc. Always plan ahead and step back and look at what you are about to complete.
