Track Forms A Circle
Andrew wants to know how many pieces of track you need to form a circle and asks readers:

Hi Andrew, The smallest radius I know of is 9.75″ n scale code 80 track which gives you a 19.50″ diameter circle + or -. You can purchase these in packages of 6. There may be some larger locomotives ex: the big boy steam locomotive, that may not stay on the track at this radius. Tony P
A package of six will give you a half circle, you need twelve to make a full circle.
9 3/4″ is the “train set” standard, but it is not suitable for larger locomotives. I have diesels with four wheel trucks that run fine on them, but even my little Bachmann 4-4-0 steam locos prefer a larger radius.
