4 x 8 Layout Planned
Jim is hoping to get some layout concept ideas for his planned project and asks readers:
“I have three Lionel Locomotives and Railroad Cars that were made in the mid 1950’s. I would like to make a layout of about a 4’x8′ or 4’x6′. I would like something that really looks neat and doesn’t look out of place because of my trains age. Thought you guys might have a idea.”

Hi Jim, First you have to figure out what ERA your trains are from. The actual age of your loco’s doesnt matter except for the actual operation. You will find what you need by going on line to Lionel and search all the different sites it will send you to. Once you figure this out they (lionel) have a lot of layout ideas for what ever you want or you can just get a layout book for ex: from Atlas and build what you want. you are only limited by your pocket book or imagination. by the way go for the 4’x8′ layout.
