“I have just bought a Fourney 2-4-4 Bachman and it derails any following cars by excessive tailswing on curves. Is there a solution?”

If you could somehow mount the coupler on the trailing truck it might help. Otherwise, the only thing I can think of is to increase your turn radius (not so easy to do).
