“I have Bachmann Santa Fe war bonnet which I sent back to the factory two times and it will still not stay on the track. What is wrong with it?”

    I had the same problem with the same locomotive. I fixed it by switching the first axle with the very back axle. All you can do is try this.

    i had the same problem with a bachmann southren pacific daylight steam loco that train would not stay on the track to save its life i finally ended up selling it and to make matters worse it was a spectrum from bachmann one of their best brands ha i say….j

    Check the wheel spacing with an NMRA gauge, most of the Bachmanns that I have ever had are a bit tight in gauge. Easy to fix, irritating to experience.
