Pests On Layouts

Bryan asks a question that has been asked before. He is not alone with this problem:

“I have used flour and water paste for paper mache on chicken wire to form hills etc on my oo gauge layout, but I now find I am suffering from what appear to be weevils, can anyone help please?”

i know exactly what they are but cant remember the name the bugs are commonly found in flour i lived in an apartment building that was nearly overrun by these lil pests if you are using flour it may be a good idea to sift it through a fine screen in case it contains eggs are they black and kind of worm like they are really hard to kill almost like an hard outside shell kinda gross too lol hope this helps they multiply really fast too. steven phaneuf parry sound ontario canada

I would buy some malathion and paint a corner of your area to see if there is a chemical reaction. Malathion will smell for several days, but where it goes nothing goes.
