HO Scenery Plans and Structures
Andrew will like some advice from other railroaders and asks:
“Hi guys, I have an 8/4 layout structured on a rural plan. I already have a station, lumber yard, campsite, beach, lake etc. My question is what should I get next for buildings in a small rural community? Thanks for your help”

Mine, also, is a rural lay-out although I do have a small “main” street but I would, at least, have a “corner” store or market or general store depending upon the era you are modeling and a tractor supply and a feed store???
Hi,You must ahve a pub(public house)or two .One good reason is the car park it can be as big as you like.Wiyh so many great models about its nice to have somewhere that would have driverless cars.J
My layout is U-shaped, using the space is an unused bedroom with the closet doors taken off. I have an “outer circle” of buildings, and an “inner circle”. From right to left: Coal mining, old electric co, blast furnance, rolling mill, light industrial, tire shop/maintenance buildings, blending into gas station, motel, inn, lumber yard, movie theater, old town blending to newer town, restaurant, bus station, farm, depot, heavy equipment, then blending to lake, park/gazebo, playing field, small carnival, drive-in movie theater (using a dvd player).
