I&#039;m assuming you are talking about diesels, most of them have a driveshaft of some sort between the motor and the truck to drive the truck gears.  Perhaps you have had one get lost or damaged.  Let us know what kind of locomotive it is, manufacturer and such, and a more detailed answer can be made.]]></description>
