As an ordinary user (who much appreciates the ideas on this site) I have used Hornby, Bachmann and other manufacturers commonly available.

Hornby I have found a good starter but expensive. Their scenery and buildings are ridiculously over-priced. Bachmann products are more expensive but well worth the money if you can afford it.

This website is great for ideas, but please keep feeding in ideas for new learners - they will be future customers. I would not mind repeats of past ideas.

My 15 year old son and I are building a 15ft X 15ft railway in our attic. We have all the rails down and we are working on scenery.

Please can anyone suggest additional websites for ideas and support?

Thanks

Michael

Starting with favoratism on diesel locos, not necessarily in this order: Athearn, both old Blue Box and the new ones; the new Atlas series with the new and well over due improved frame and fuel tank design-- much improved; Life Like Proto series, especially the GP7's, GP35's and GP30's; Kato SD45 and SD40-2; Bachmann's SD45 -- that's it on the diesels.
