Your brass track is still okay to use although it tends to tarnish a lot easier than nickel silver rail does. As a result, you&#039;ll have to clean the rail more frequently to get good conductivity between the track and your locomotives.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you should decide to mix the rail types, you MIGHT run into corrosion issues by mixing the two rail types together when they come in contact with one another.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Another downside (although not as serious) of mixing the rail types is that the nickel silver looks more realistic than the brass.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hope this helps,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Geof from the US]]></description>
