I have much code 100 flex track.
The previous solder comment is manatory.
I use loc-tite construction adhesive to glue the cork and track down carefully.
I usually draw my track c/l on the board being carefull to have a smooth/constsnt radius curve. 18" would be ok for your short locos. otherwise at least 24".. This was my mistake on some of the layout.

I use digitrax superchief with 3 subpower controls and 16 blocks. The "block occupied" works great on the RR&Co computer program.

I have used most of the various turnout drives. The tortoise requires too much space under when there are three levels..BUT work great.

I have most all of the Digitrax and other control circuits for different operations. My signal lights work great but the Semaphores are a challenge.

I haven't tried the transponding yet.

Ray Jeske

flex track is cool, not many problems using it on straights but on curves make sure you solder the flex track before bending or shaping to a curve or you will have problems also make sure your radius isn't to sharp or your trains will derail, do a search through e-bay for train stuff as its were i go for all kinds of things train related, Ian Western Australia :)
