The layout that I show here is on two 4×8 sheets, but the sidings on the right side of the layout could work in an oval, just as easily.

You might also try to track down copies of “Lionel FasTrack Model Railroads” and “The Lionel FasTrack Book,” both offer some great ideas for small layouts.

Another good option is to do a web search for “fastrack 4×8 layouts.” You might find some fun ideas to incorporate into your layout there.
