I use 3 wire telephone wire. It is used on the entire layout..if I find that I need more power at another area I just run another line to that section of track, such as hills with grades that go to 3.5 degrees...yea I know but they do use pushers on the bigger hills. My power(engines) are all wheel drive and I love engines that have to work. The only bad thing about my wire is that it is not stranded it is single conductor and could break..I can run a train, turn a draw bridge, and light all the lights and signals from 1 TECH ll.Everything is sodered....Go FOR IT..Hobbies are fun...I know I'm crazy.
