Fred. Thank you for your reply. Yes, now that I think about it I believe his name was James Sparkman. I remember relating the operator&#039;s name to the sparks the EL used give off as it rode down Market St. Remember that? His operating layout was one of the most popular at the show. I think it was a Greenberg&#039;s show at the old Convention Center on Civic Center boulevard.]]></description>

Im sure its expensive now when I was riding it was 25 cence with a transfer to catch the BROAD ST. SUBWAY. that tells u how old I am. Nice pic.]]></description>

					<description><![CDATA[Fifty years ago I rode this Subway-Elevated line 5 day a week for about 3 years. In the morning I started fron the end of the line so it was easy to get a seat.  On the way home in the evening I usuall had to stand for a good portion of the ride.  There was total chaos when the workers went on strike; I ended up riding the Reading RR.  My wife had to drive me several miles to the station and meet me in the evening.  In the vening at Reading terminal they would open the doors to a platform and it was just like water going through a nozzles with people being the water droplets.]]></description>
