I have the Department 56 or Snow Village. There is a trolley ON3 with it but not set up with it much. Most folks I know set them up seasonal. But I have seen a few with the buildings set up in a more winter scene especially buildings that have the snow and Christmas theme attached to them.
I for one since the Snow Village is rather large use Lego Passenger trains in the scene as it is really pretty close to size but I don't have room to run them. It looks real good at the station too. I have seen some lionel folks use them as permanent buildings but so far they have not done the scenery to go with them. Newman

I have saved the village houses From (1955 to present) I have brought, got as Christmas gifts and made from house brought at the $1.00 store they can be painted. We (husband and I) have N, S, HO (old and New), Buchman small and one smaller still all on one layout. We put the house according to the size of the train passing the section if there is more than one we mix them. I has turned out really nice. They will blend together, and will look together.
