I mounted mine under the table so that it can’t be broken. A couple of screws but not too tight.

Hi Doug I run a Digitrax AR1 on my reverse loop, it sits on my control shelf wedged under the point switches I’ve knocked it displaced it so it’s hanging by its wires and I just wedge it back and carry on.So from what I can see it’s pretty robust it’s been operating over 6 months with no problems. There are four holes one in each corner and I know of people who just screw it to a backboard, take care not to over tighten and it works perfectly well hope that helps don’t let it intimidate you it’s stronger than it looks Graeme

Having looked at the Digitrax ARI If you want to mount on the surface of the control panel then I would say that as there is no covering of the components it is imperative that you place the ARI in some sort of box. It could also be mounted, as is, below the module close to the reversing section. This option, in my opinion, would be best practice.
