THERE IS A GUY NAMED DAVIS LYONS WHO LIVES IN NORTH CAROLINA. HE HAS BEEN A LIONEL TRANSFORMER REPAIRMAN FOR YEARS. HE HAS EVERY PART FOR THE KW AND ZW TRANSFORMERS. I'VE RECENTLY REBUILT 4 TRANSFORMERS WITH THE PARTS THAT HE GAVE ME. THEY WORK BETTER THEN WHEN THEY WERE FIRST MADE. HE HAS WORKED UNDER THE OLD SCHOOL LIONEL REPAIRMEN OF THE 50'S.FOR YEARS. JUST TELL HIM WHAT YOU NEED. SOME OF THE UPGRADES ARE COPPER CARBON ROLLERS, 16 AMP STUD DIODES FOR THE WHISTLE, THERMAL SEALED CIRCUIT BREAKERS, AND TERMINAL POSTS.

Hi Drew

Did you try Ebay? They usually have parts that are hard to find. In addition, train shows have vendors that sell lionel repair parts. You can also search on Google.com.

Hooe that helps.

I assume you're in the USA. Check the classifieds in Classic Toy Trains magazine for an authorized Lionel repair station. The Yellow pages might help, as well. Don't attempt this repair yourself as you don't know the extent of the damage your "repair" man caused. Don't return to this clown and don't use the ZW untill it's fixed.
