William;
As Kevin stated the AR1 will work with any DCC system. A few things that Digitrax doesn't tell you though. Leave a few inches of live track coming off the turnout before the insulated joiners for the loop track that ill be connected to the AR1, if you are using live frogs. This is not always required but it is easier to do from the beginning.
I had to extend the booster short circuit shutdown time. This is easy to do with a digitrax system and probably with others also but I only have experience with Digitrax. Failure to do this will result in the booster shutting down quicker than the AR1 can switch. Your train will simply stall upon entering or exiting the reversing loop as it experiences a short. Do this often enough and you will be buying a new decoder.
Install the AR1 where it is accessible in case you have to adjust the sensitivity in the future.
