Track Clean Car – What’s Best?

Francis has this question:

“I need a track cleaning car for my HOn3 layout…if necessary I can easily swap HOn3 trucks on an HO car. What’s best?”

Atlas make an HO track cleaning car.

The best cleaner is CMX Track Cleaner. I have tried many other types and nothing comes close to this gem. Available from Tony’s Train Exchange or on e-Bay. They are not cheap but if you want clean track this will do it.

Hi as above the best track cleaner by far is the CMX track cleaner. The only thing is you need a good strong LOCOMOTIVE to pull or push the cleaner around the track, as it is made from solid brass and very heavy best thing I did. good luck Monty

I have tried just about every track cleaner car available and CMX is the only one that works for me!

I took an HO track cleaning car and converted it to HOn3. I then motorized the cleaning pad, and installed a DCC decoder to control it. I didn’t stop there, I installed a camera on one end of the car. The video’s title says HO track cleaning car, but it’s on HOn3 track…
