Paper and Plaster Scenery Construction
Ron has this question for others in the hobby:
“I am getting ready for some scenery on the layout. I was going to use paper wads under plaster cloth but a recent article said that the paper might absorb moister over time. What can I use other than paper?”

I use styrofoam like they use in packaging. you can stack it then cut it with a heat knife or exacto knife. then cover with plaster cloth. I have also used hardware cloth. It is a 1/4 inch wire mesh. form it then cover with plaster cloth. The mesh is great for tunnels.
I wish to know if you mean Plaster of Paris ( GYPSUM) which is normally used as for medical Ortho, doctors for bone fracture treatments for humans , hands and legs fracture taken care with Plaster band aids as it will give a hard and strong and durable paintable structure for long life for layout as mountains and as other structure ..too..Sajan
