NEM Couplers (Farish, Dapol) Constantly Uncoupling

Shaun models N scale and has this question for readers:

“I’m tired of my NEM couplers uncoupling and was hoping for advice as to what these could be replaced with? Or for suggestions on how to keep them coupled?”

    My experiences have indicated that the two most common causes for random uncoupling are 1) couplers not all at the correct height and, 2) couplers are binding or not freely moving. The first problem will be worse on grade transitions or uneven track. The second problem will occur most often on curves.
