Driver Wheels Slipping On Grades

Richard needs help from anyone experienced in wheel traction and asks:

“I have problems with driver wheels slipping on grades when I have more than 4 coaches. Is there any way to increase loco driver wheel adhesion? I have weighted my locos as much as possible. Is there some treatment for the driver wheel surfaces that would prevent slipping?”

In the blog search box type in “traction tires” and read the comment by silly0ne (me) concerning something called Bull Frog Snot. This should help you out.

There is a product which goes by the rather yukky name of Bullfrog Snot. It gets some very good press. It’s available in a 3ml. pot from an ebay seller called tomo1984. I got some from a mate and it really does what it says on the tin.Good luck.
