Electrial Wiring For Bigger Layout

Loren is expanding the train layout and asks readers for help:

“I am expanding my lay out and use multiple trains and need more electial current to the far end of my tracks. I am wondering how is the best way to gain more current throughout my track”

Hi Loren, You need a direct line or main line from your power source to the farthests side of your layout. This can be called a main bus line which is usually a larger gage wire and you can have additional smaller feed lines tap off of this with smaller gage wire. Of course if you segregate track for different operations of your locos you will need additional main bus lines. Tony P
