Easiest method apart from sandpapering the lot, purchase a appropriate scaled cleaning car from a hobby site like http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/931-751 here, attach it to a train and get it running round your track. Keeping it clean? Dust and vacuum the room often, keep food and cats away etc…
