Interchanging HO Train Brands

Michael has a question for readers:

“I started with a G scale set but have now realised there are a lot more (accesories) and trains for HO modules. There are some Bachmann and Marklin set I’m interested in buying. My question is can they be interchanged as they are both HO scales?”

Mike,

I believe the only issue you will run into using these two manufacturers is their incompatible coupler types.

If you should decide to use the more prototypical knuckle type couple, it won’t be an issue since you’ll have to change couplers on each brand.

Hope this helps,
