HO Trestle Jig

Bob asks readers:

“I have reached the point on my layout where I have to install trestles. I need to construct a jig in order to build the bends, this appears to be an overwhelming task. If the luck I’ve had so far is any indicator. ;o) Any help appreciated.”

Look on ‘www.blackbearcc.com’ and you will find more info about trestles [and trestle jigs] than you ever thought possible.

I agree with Dick. http://www.blackbearcc.com is the way to go. Although he says that you should build a straight trestle first I built a long bridge in an S curve and it is about 36″ long. It was fairly easy using their jig. Just take your time.

Use your computer.
Google search for Trestle Jigs, and Trestle Bents, etc and review everything that comes up.
If in HO Scale, someone makes pre-assembled and pre-weathered bents of various heights as well as top deck sections. Couldn’t be any easier as they look good with a side benefit of saving time in the process.
Can’t find em? I’ve seen them advertized along with Scenic Express scenery materials. Thus google search for Scenic Express and check out the site.
