Rust Colored Paint

“Is there any such thing as rust colored paint? I have been unsuccessful trying to blend paint to simulate rust on my stock. It doesn’t look realistic. I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks.”

Polly Scale makes a rust paint that works well with dry brushing. It’s available from Micro Mark.

Red primer paint is a good cheap base paint for rust coloring.

Burnt Sienna and burnt umber are very effective colors for portraying different types of rust.
