New OO Layout With Suburban Railway Station

Chris has a question for readers:

“I am about to build a unit of our local suburban railway station,and have reasonable dimensions of buildings etc. but I am finding it difficult to transfer these to OO scale can anyone help? Thank you.”

There are many ways of converting dimensions. Two that spring to mind are calculating the dimensions taken using the 00 scale of 1:76. A second way is to obtain a scale rule with markings to 00 scale and use this for all drawings.

The easiest way is to use a drawing with imperial measurements feet and inches and scale it one foot = 4mm in OO and 3 inches = 1mm in OO.
