    You can use any decoder with any manufacturers system. You mostly cannot mix power supplies and control handsets. They need to be from the same builder.

    It was actually May 10, 1869 at Promontory Summit, not the Point. Promontory Point is in the Great Salt Lake, and the joing of the rails was at Promontory Summit.
