Do You Need To Separate The Switch With Frogs?

Douglas models N gauge and wants reader suggestions or comments on his question:

“I would like to know when setting up a DCC layout do I need to separate the switch with frogs? ”

    More than likely not. If it works just fine on DC, it should have no problem on DCC. Moses switches I take out the package, hook them up and away they go.

    If using Peco they have a wiring diagram that includes switching for the “frog” in the “Electrofrog” range. DCC is much more sensitive than DC when it comes to momentary short circuits, and so it is a good idea to isolate the frog from the running rails and switch it s polarity as the points are changed.
