Progressing From Starter Set To Bigger Layout
Mike posted this question:
“Hi, I’m a 59 year old double amputee who decided to get into model trains due to depression from limb loss. My question is this: I bought the Bachmann Chattanooga starter set that comes with HO scale EZ track. If I want to change engine and rolling stock in HO will they fit this track or do the single buys use a certain track? I like Bachmann and would probably buy that brand if this helps. Thank you.”

HO IS HO U CAN BUY ANY HO THEY ALL FIT ON HO TRACK , NOMATTER WHAT HO TRACK U BUY. IF U WANT TO BUY SILVER TRACK FROM BACHMANN THAT WOULD BE A BETTER CHOUCH. IN THE STARTER SET U GET BLACK WITH STEAL RAILS WHICH DOSEN’T GET GOOD CONDUCTIVE. ELE.
LATTER OWN IF U DISIDED TO GO WITH ELETRONIC BACHMANN HAS THAT TO.
GOOD LUCK AND TKS FOR FIGHTING FOR OUR COUNTRY .
As Skip says, HO is HO, so any north american HO will fit on your starter set. I say north american because if you buy european you can get into problems – eg markiln is “three rail” and UK manufacturers model to 00 scale which has the same track gauge as HO but the models are slightly larger – 1/76 vs 1/87. Happy modelling!
