“Can I paint brass bumpers with acrylics or do I need oil-based paints or something else? Is there any special prep needed before painting?

Hi Michael,
Acrylics is fine but you will need to clean the brass thoroughly and apply an etc primer then under coat and topcoat.

You can use a Zinc Oxide primer on anything and acrylics will adhere beautifully. It was developed for aluminum.
