Signal Pilot to Control Railroad Crossing Lights

Ed models HO scale and asks readers:

“Can anybody tell me where or how to get a manual for a signal pilot to control railroad crossing lights? The one I have is in German and I don’t read German. I need all the info that I can get.”

One Response to Signal Pilot to Control Railroad Crossing Lights

  • The N-Scale Nerd says:

Apologies, but what is a “signal pilot”?

Not really sure what you mean, but for crossing lights, you really need 2 sensors and some sort of controller. 1 sensor to trigger the lights before the train starts to go through the crossing, and 1 to reset or turn them off when the last carriage of the train clears the crossing.

There are also units which have 1 sensor and 2 actuators to retro-fit into the loco and last carriage of your train, too.
