Animal Figurines

Dave is on the lookout for HO scale plastic animal figures:

“The ultimate finish to my Montana mountain/camping scene would be an HO figure of ‘Bigfoot’. Long-shot to say the least. I have been totally through the figures pages in Walthers 2022 catalog actually looking for maybe a gorilla in a zoo animal group that I could repaint brown… sitting or standing. Has anyone seen anything like this?”

This is perfect for what I needed. A little big for HO but will be fun to spot on my forest/mountain scene.
Thanks for the help.

I found this website (miniprints.com) has just what you are looking for.

Thanks for the suggestion here. I went with the etsy one that Billy suggested. All joking aside, I didn’t care for the anatomy of the one from miniprints, lol.

If you can’t find a Bigfoot you might try a small Star Wars: Chewbacca Action Figure. It’ll probably need a but of modification, and possibly repainting, to remove any “futuristic” details.

Or you could have a go with simple modelling clay, acrylic modelling clay or modelling putty.
Mould and carve with toothpicks etc. Create a whole bigfoot family !
You may discover and develop talents you never knew you had !

Dave,
Go to Model Tech Studios modeltechstudios.com/hoscalepeople.aspx?page=2

There you will find HO scale Big Foot near the bottom of the page. They have 5 pages of different figurines not found in Walthers. They have a lot of other items besides figurines. I use them for unique situations as they would be too expensive to populate a full model railroad unless money is no object.
