Quality of Locomotives

I have a few (5) BLI HO locos. They are middle of the road and their decoders are weak.I am slowly replacing them all (the decoders). The locos are good looking and their drive system seems to be quite good. I can’t speak to N scale though.
I only have HO BLI locomotives which run really nice. I have KATO and Atlas N scale which run great. Kato track is really good as well.
