Kato Unitrack Joiner Problem

Wayne asks:

“I have Kato Unitrack joiners that are losing power. Is there an easy way to tighten them, or is it better to replace them?”

Solder the joiners.

Install feeder wires from the rails down to the bus.

I would first replace the joiners with new one. If that doesn’t work, then I would solder like Robert said.

You could try just tightening them. Carefully with a pliers/needle nose or other. Crimp the joiner to the web of the rail. Top to bottom if possible. Just crimping side to side may not be enough. If that don’t help, then as mentioned, replace the joiners with new ones. Finally, the solder is always the best solution to any electrical connection.
