Ideas For Lights And Action On Railroad
Pat was some ideas from anyone in the hobby who has experience with adding lights and action to a layout and asks:
“I am helping to build a model railroad scene for my 5 year old grandson. He wants lots of lights and action. I am not quite sure how to do this. I am unsure of how many transformers I need and how to wire the scene. Are there rules to follow?”

i have used cheap xmas lights on my layout they come in 25 lights to a hundred lights and under each building i drill a hole just big enough to fit them in then all i do is plug them in i managed to light every building on my layout and didnt use any power from my transformer which was needed for my trains plus it is easy to buy the globes for them as well
I have sucessfuly used LED’s for lighting. They last a long time and consume very little power. Visit ‘Welcome to the Electronic Club’ website for info on how to use LED’s. There are many sites on LED’s with some exciting projects. Do no worry, I also Knew nothing.
