Hornby Trains Down Under
Brian from ‘down-under’ in New South Wales, Australia wants to hear from readers with suggestions on the Hornby train he is looking at purchasing:
“I am looking to build a layout incorporating NSW trains & have seen ho models available in Hobbyco Sydney.I was also looking at a hornby set(virgin train in oo) with a digital transformer.Would a ho model loco & carriages run on this set.”

HI,
I model Hornby OO gauge (and Bachman etc) in Canada. Yes, OO and Ho gauge use the same track; all modern Hornby wheel flanges will work with HO track (code 75) and the digital controller or throttle will work with any other chipped locomotive.
My only comment is chip the Hornby models yourself, rather than DCC fitted as Hornby only use 2 number codes e.g. 25 so you would have difficulty using other 4 digit codes for loco’s.
