Train Repairs with New Brushes and Motors

Paul wants to repair his trains with new brushes and/or motors and wants to hear from anyone who has already done this to their trains:

“I have various AHM engines from the 1970’s who need repairs, new brushes and/or motors. Does anyone know if there is a source for such train AHM train parts?”

Trains from the 70’s is really getting along. For parts try your local hobby shop first. Then send the manufcturer a email. Most are very willing to help.(try Walthers on line,or phone them). They are nice people.Al in al I would convert the motors(open frame DC),to a can motor. You’ll get smoother operation, easier to switch to DCC.I’ve converted all my locos to can motors.DCC is the future of model railroading.Hope this will help.Regards.Tom
