Wiring A Model Train Layout
If you have experience with wiring a layout then Ken would like to hear from you:
“I really want to run more than one engine on my train layout but am confused on the wiring. Is it easy to put in those plastic joiners in certain places or just upgrade to a digital train layout?”

I have just built my first layout using joiners and have 9 seperate lines and 7 round house tracks. this is on a 4×8 soon to join anothr 4×8. Ican currently run 3 trains moving from section to section but usually have to stop and long at wiring again. I was lucky and got early 60s atlas plan book which showed basic wiring diagram. Could photo and send if wanted Bill
Ken,
Currently, & looking forward into the future, DCC is the name of the game. DC operation with sectional switching entails significant wiring requirements & frankly is “yeterday’s child”.
Easy operation proceedures, including multiple loco running, make DCC a must. Wiring is straight forward, compared to DC operations.
I recommend that you go straight to DCC – you won’t look back
Happy modelling,
Ian
