Follow-Up On Funicular Rail Cars
Thomas asked in response to the earlier posting on funicular rail cars:
“I saw a picture of some funicular cars in the Q & A section of this site. Can someone tell me who makes them? I am going to build the Johnstown PA Inclined Plane in my layout and would like to buy cars to run on it.”

Hi All, Well, I did the research for you through the internet, and as I figured there is not too much you will find, except for the real thing, lots on that. However, go to “ralph and sues meccano” web site, (it looks like a foreign site) I found that by doing a general search for funicular, and it looks like they built this FROM SCRATCH as I figured and it looks like the old Erector sets. They give complete instructions and a parts list so maybe with their help you can figure out a way to scratch build what you want in the scale you want. This sounds like a real challenge but go for it. In all my years of modeling I dont think I have ever seen a real adult kit for a layout. you might want to go on a foreign modelers search. Tony P
Dear Thomas,
I also are looking for the same cars for my planned funicular railway layout. I have searched Australia for some but to no avail. I would appreciate any information you get to your inquiry. Best of luck.
