Dead Spot On Track

Mike is hoping for some free advice from others in the hobby and asks:

“Why do I get a dead spot on one of my tracks? Its only half a section, and the Locomotive light will go off. If the train is going fast enough, it plows through and gets a live wire…but if its going slow enough it will come to a halt. Obviously, I checked the rail and connectors.”

One Response to Dead Spot On Track

  • Alan says:

If your sure you have got all the normal stuff covered dirty wheels lose connections etc,—- You didn,t say if you were running DCC or not but if you are I have had the same problem the engine would stop or slow down and then take off again for no reason. I fixed the problem by resetting the option switch in the command station back to factory spec which cleared all the internal memory and everything started running normal again. Good Luck
