Amtrak Auto Train Carriers

Daiquiri asks readers:

“I am looking for the builders of the new Amtrak Auto Train Carriers. I am creating an HO scale Auto Train and have to scratch build the auto carriers. I need plans, diagrams or blueprints so I can obtain the dimensions of the cars so that I can reduce them down to HO scale.”

I am seeking an O Gauge Amtrak Auto Train to purchase. Is there such a thing? Not finding it in any gauge.

I recently had several Walthers Bi-Level and Tri-Level auto carriers cars customized to replicate the Amtrak Auto Train using Ph 3 scheme. Total consist of auto carriers are: 8-75″ Walthers cars (4-ph3& 4-ph4); 7- 89′ Walthers Tri-Level (ph3); 4 – 89′ Walthers Bi-Level cars (ph3). Connected with Heritage cars (including Domes), I can build a consist from the early 80’s, replace heritage coaches with Amfleet coaches can build the intermideate equipment switchover, then finally use Superliners 1 &2 for the early SuperLiner & Late SuperLiner consist.
My only problem is motive power. I need to find someone who can customize a P30 for my early consist, I have a GP40 with 2 F40 for the Intermediate and P40/42’s for the later.
MicroTrains is releasing an “N” scale of the 89′ Amtrak Auto Carriers. But as far as any other gauge; I have not seen anything using amtrak colors.
