Code 83 or Code 100

David asks readers a question that has been answered before (see 303 Model Railroading Answers ebook).

“I am just getting started. I have purchased a lot off of e-bay. What is the best track to use. Code 100 or Code 83? And how can I run 2 trains on the same track?”

One Response to Code 83 or Code 100

  • I use Code 100 specifically because older equipment and European pieces can run on it with their deep flanges.

If you’re going for scale appearance though, Code 83 is what you’d use.

As for two train ops, the easiest way would be to start with DCC. Just look it up on the net.
