N Gauge Bachmann Switches Causing Problems

George asks readers:
“I have switches that every time I try to run my engines the power change direction. If I change the direction of the switch the engine runs on through the switch and jumps the track. I can’t seem to get a handle on it. These are N gauge Bachmann switches.”

One Response to N Gauge Bachmann Switches Causing Problems

  • You say the polarity of the power changes as you run the engine throught the switch? Are you attempting to use the Bachmann EZ track switch in a reverse loop without power isolation Before and after he switch to prevent shorting as the engine passes?

I’ve also noted that the Bachmann switches aren’t as precise in closure of the points and wheel flanges will ride up on the base of the frogs.

Quality control appears to be a forgotten concept with Bachmann
