Changing Couplers

Wayne has a question that has been answered previously (search older postings) and which is answered fully in the members area of the online model train club. Readers might like to give a quick answer.

“I have several older N scale cars and want to change all to the automatic couplers. What type should I use and how much trouble to change them over? Thank you.”

One Response to Changing Couplers

  • Jerry says:

I am new to N scale but have experience in changing ho couplers with much success. However, in N scale, you should get micro trains pre assembled couplers to save yourself aggrevation. Unassembled N nuckle couplers are difficult to assemble unless you have experience due to the small size. You can also purchase the truck mounted coupler sets but body mount is much better.
