G Scale SF Cable Car
Richard has a question for anyone with knowledge of G scale and asks:
“I am currently building a G-scale SF cable car from Occre. Would anyone happen to know where I could buy a pair of circular beacon lights for the opposite front panels of this model. Diameter would be .25 inch. Voltage should be 6-12v. DC. I also would like to install 4 overhead lamps to hang from the underside of the roof of the cable car, same voltage, diameter to be 3/16 inch. Color of these lights is clear. Finally, there are 4 pilot lights that need to be installed in the 4 corners of the roof top of the model. Color is yellow, voltage 6-12v. Diameter would be. 1/8 inch.”

I have had trains in my younger years, But this the frist I have tried to do scenery & make look realastice
Your ideals have proved very helpful in many ways.
Thank You very much. My ? Is and I know that HO scale is 1/87 but what I
want to know just the simple trem in inches what that is in laments terms like from feet to inches
(Example a house is 50’x40′ real life what size is that in inches for the HO set up?
I’m trying to do a lot of my own building work myself.
So I need to know the foot to inch ratio for the HO SCALE.
As I learn more myself and use different materials I will gladly pass all info. I collect.
I have found out that some material that is QUITE COMMON around the house can be used and works great for different projects.
Thank You Very Much

It is a great conversion calculuator. Real to scale, scale to real or scale to another scale.
You do have to convert feet to inches ie 50′ = 600″ and 40′ = 480″. 600″ converts to 6.89″ @ 87.1 and 480″ is 5.51″ This makes a 50 by 40 foot building 6.89 by 5.51 inches in HO. Also does metric.
